Activities
Members of the Association meet regularly for social activities, usually on a very informal basis,
and the atmosphere is always most convivial. We welcome new members from all walks of life, so please feel free to contact us for further information.
Music, art, sport and nautical exchanges between Bristol and Bordeaux are some of the exciting
highlights of the Bristol-Bordeaux link. In the summer of 2005, the City of Bristol Rowing Club represented Bristol to compete against crews from
Bilbao, Porto and Bordeaux at the Fete du Fleuve (River Festival) in Bordeaux.
The Colston Hall was represented on the main stage at the city's 2007 River Festival with
singer/songwriter Katey Brooks and the African rhythms of Bristol based band Mankala, who were selected and invited to take part in this
bi-annual festival.
Whilst the Bristol-Bordeaux Association supports all such activities and
exchanges, it does not actively involve itself in their organisation. However, we are more than happy to offer advice and support where
appropriate. If you belong to a club or organisation which might wish to organise a sporting or cultural exchange with Bordeaux or the
region of Aquitaine, please let us know about your plans.
